North Carolina Families United: Programs & How Your Donations Make an Impact

At North Carolina Families United, we are committed to empowering children, youth, and families by providing essential resources, training, and support. Our programs focus on mental health, fostering resilience, and promoting inclusion across North Carolina. Your generous donations are vital in expanding these transformative services to communities in need.

Training & Education Initiatives:

Our training programs equip community leaders, caregivers, families, youth, and children with the tools necessary to foster personal growth, mental wellness, and family cohesion. These trainings cover essential topics such as wellness recovery action plans (WRAP), suicide prevention, and positive parenting techniques. By offering education rooted in evidence-based practices, we enable participants to build resilience and navigate challenges with confidence. These programs empower families and community leaders to create a supportive environment for all.

Youth Engagement & Community Outreach:

Through your support, we can broaden our outreach efforts, extending services to underserved and rural areas across North Carolina. Our youth peer groups offer critical support, focusing on building resilience, self-confidence, and mental wellness, providing young people with a safe space to connect and grow. Additionally, we implement early intervention programs that help families access the resources they need before issues escalate. Engaging the community with these services strengthens the foundation for a healthier future. By reaching families, caregivers, and youth statewide, we foster positive change and help children and families build meaningful connections with others who share similar experiences.

Community Events & Engagement:

Our community events, which are designed to encourage inclusion, positivity, and holistic health, serve as hubs for families to connect, engage, and grow. These events bring together families, youth, and local leaders to participate in wellness activities, educational workshops, and peer-led discussions. Engaging the community in these ways helps create a support network that promotes emotional well-being and resilience. Examples include mental health awareness days, wellness fairs, and family-focused activities that promote inclusion and positivity.

The Annual Field Day Festival:

To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month in May, NCFamU hosts an annual community field day encouraging health and family fun. This event also provides an opportunity for donors to meet the families, youth, and leaders whose lives have been directly touched by their support, offering an inspiring look at the work we accomplish together.

The Annual Gala:

To celebrate and express our gratitude, we host an Annual Gala each fall, where we honor and thank our dedicated donors. This event recognizes those whose generous contributions enable us to continue our mission and make a significant impact on the lives of families and children. With your continued generosity, we can expand our programs, reach more communities, and further strengthen families across North Carolina.
